With Father’s Day upon us, we chose Jardins d’Écrivains’ new fragrance, Junky, composed by perfumer Anais Biguine for our second Fragrance of the Week. This surprise sleeper is just beginning to be discovered and appreciated.
Launched at Esxence in March, Junky is truly a fragrance like no other. It was inspired by writer William S. Burrough’s book, Junkie: Confessions of an Unredeemed Drug Addict. In fact, it does not dwell on the seedier side at all.
Its unique and complex notes tempt you to analyze “Just what is this…?” It starts off as a green scent, with galbanum’s leafy notes, augmented by a nice hay-like cannabis contribution along with rosewood. Its heart notes bring us violet, gardenia and eventually iris, anchored by vetiver and a whole group of woods and resins.
Junky remains uplifting, with good sillage and longevity.
A nice scent to wear that smells terrific on the skin. Perfect for nuzzling up to…
